At end of the month of September, Jan and Ron Lindsey spent a day on this boat and had a terrific adventure. This was Ron's first time deep-sea fishing and he had always dreamed of hooking a Marlin. So, in another instance of "Be careful what you ask for", Ron got a double hook up on Marlin that were in the 400 to 600 pound range. This is an experience that doesn't occur very often. The havoc created by two gigantic fish heading in opposite directions is unbelievable. The decision was made to go for the Marlin that Ron was fighting so Phil was handed the other rod. Old Phil is always the hander rather than the recipient of a rod attached to a big fish and before he even realized the honor that was bestowed upon him, the line spooled right before his eyes and the fish was 'Caught and Released' without even working up a sweat. (Neither of them, Phil or the Marlin) Ron fought his Marlin for nearly an hour and even had it up to the boat for a good look. Unfortunately, the line eventually tail wrapped the fish and broke off. Another successful 'Catch and Release' at La Corbeteņa! |
