So, what do these guys want to do in Puerto Vallarta after months at sea?  Hit the beach, check out the bars, see the sights?  Nope……….go fishing, of course.  Ryan Lee, his brother Chuck who flew in from Indiana and buddies Chris and Sherman chartered the MAGNIFICO and spent 10 hours of exciting fishing.  Instead of heading to La Corbeteña, the decision was made to travel north from El Moro and it was a good choice on this day.  They hooked 9 sharks, 4 Yellowfin tuna, two that were over 50 pounds and 3 Dorado.  The group spent the evening at the El Dorado Restaurant and enjoyed their catch of the day for the second time.

A particular highlight of September was a visit from the Navy ship, the USS McClusky fresh from her rescue of the sailor who was adrift for over 3 months.  Among the crew members of this ship are some very serious anglers and they spend as much time as possible fishing while at sea.  It seems that when a 'Fish Call' is announced, the guys hit the deck and the gear is set up.  They commented that it was nearly impossible to convince the Captain of the USS McClusky to back down on a Marlin, so at 'full speed ahead' and a 500 pounder on the line, they had some zany fish tales to tell.

Fish Call on the USS McClusky

We thank Ryan for sharing these fabulous photos with us.  You will notice that there are none of their charter on the MAGNIFICO.  Well, Phil's 'Free With Cheap After Shave' camera did it again.  When he opened it to have the film developed, it was in it's original position and not a single September photo was recorded.

But, these photos are so amazing that old Phil is wondering if it is too late for him to enlist.
